Ancient Persia, Achaemenid Kingdom. Artaxerxes I to Xerxes II, c. 455-420 BC. Silver siglos, Type IVb. The front depicts a Persian king or hero in kneeling-running stance right, holding dagger and bow, ancient banker’s-mark on front / The back with a rectangular incuse punch. Coin reference: Carradice Type IV; BMC 125; SNG Kayhan 1033 for type. Encapsulated and graded Fine by NGC. Coin measures 14mm diameter; archival slab measures 3.125" x 2.125" x 0.375”. Provenance: Ex De Père, WI collection.Accompanied by a hand-signed certificate of authenticity which includes all the details, culture, dating, motifs/inscriptions when applicable, historical relevance, and provenance.
