Ancient Rome, 1st-2nd century AD. Small bronze foot from a larger vessel, depicting a gryphon (griffin), with wings spread. This likely would have adorned the base of a large bronze ceremonial or utilitarian vessel. Nicely preserved with good detail. Dark olive-green patina.
