Formulated to provide the cleanest and safest fire possible, SMARTFUEL™ is a recycled liquid ethanol fuel created specifically for bio-ethanol ventless fireplaces. It's planet-friendly and suitable for use indoors or outdoors. There are no harmful fumes when burning—only small amounts of CO2 and water vapor—no soot, no smoke, no smell, and no residue. Smartfuel also features exclusive Safety Pour™ technology to provide the safest possible, flash-free transfer of fuel from the bottle into the fireplace reservoir.

How much heat does it produce?

It is approx 4000-6000BTU.

Are there any safety systems in place in case the unit gets knocked over by accident?

This model has a fiber wicking inside the reservoir that absorbs the liquid fuel inside it. Should it ever get knocked over, as long as it is filled to the proper capacity, the fiber should contain the fuel from spilling or it would be a minimal spill.

How long does one burn last?

Each fill is approx. a bottle of fuel and that will burn approx. 1.5-2 hours. Possibly a little longer if you close off the dampers a little.

How big an area would 4,000 - 6,000 btu heat?

That would heat approx. 300 sq ft. The output is similar to a small electric space heater.
