Benromach is a traditional Speyside distillery owned by a family of whisky-lovers intent on making single malt the right way. It takes just four ingredients— barley, water, yeast and a human touch— to make whiskey with character. All of Benromach's casks are hand-filled, individually weighed, stenciled by hand, and stowed in their traditional dunnage warehouses. Benromach believes that making whisky by hand guarantees genuine character.

Benromach Château Cissac Bordeaux Wood Finish 2010 was first aged in first-fill bourbon barrels after its distillation in 2010. It then finished its maturation in Château Cissac wine casks for just over 2 years. This limited edition bottling yielded 7789 bottles globally.

The influence of the Château Cissac casks will immediately be apparent on the nose. There are notes of melon, red apples, delicate and zesty orange peel, and dark chocolate. There's even underlying floral and charred oak notes. On the palate, it's peppery with sweet vanilla, creamy milk chocolate, and citrus flavors. Hints of red wine tannins emerge, complimenting the light peat smoke.
