Product Description

Offered here is a rare $1 Dollar 1935 “D” series Silver Certificate. This note is the “NARROW” version of the series as compared to the “WIDE” series. The way you can tell if the note is narrow or wide is by looking at the space below the “ONE DOLLAR” at the bottom of the note. The Narrow has a smaller gap between the “ONE DOLLAR” as compared to the “WIDE”. These notes are “raw” or ungraded in Choice Uncirculated condition or higher. They look like they were just printed yesterday.

The Silver Certificate is designated by the Blue Seal on the right center of the note. It also has “Silver Certificate” on the top center of the note. Each note is centered very well, and the ink really pops. The colors are bright and bold with fantastic eye appeal. The notes show no sign of wear on the corners or the sides. All of the corners and edges of the notes are crisp and clean. There are no pinholes, rips, stains, or tears. Each note will be encased in a long-term preservation holder to enhance the presentation and protect against tampering.

The 1935 $1 dollar Silver Certificate has 9 different notes in the series. They start at 1935 and then go from 1935A to 1935H. The reason for the different types of notes is that when the “Treasurer of the United States” or the “Secretary of the Treasury” changes, by law they must print notes bearing their name. That is how the “A” through “H” series works, or any other dated currency with multiple lettering in the series. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing or BEP will print millions of “backs” of notes for a series. Then print a set number of “fronts” of the notes as needed for the series with the correct Treasurer of The United States or Secretary of The Treasury. You can locate their signatures on the bottom left side and bottom right side of the front of the note. The signatures on these notes are Clark on the left and Snyder on the right. A lot of collectors will collect the entire series in a designated note, which adds to the fun of collecting currency as there are many options.

As an added bonus, when you purchase multiple items from this series, they will be arranged in consecutive order whenever possible.
