Dorit Schwartz Sculptor
AGT IV
Product Description
First found on the banks of the Achetes River in Sicily, Agate is a translucent quartz variety known for the unique patterns of alternating layers of elements, colors, and shapes. Agate has an ancient history, with some agate sculptures originating from over three millennia ago.
Agate has been used for artistic, decorative, and healing purposes. It was originally formed in the cavities of volcanic and metamorphic rocks by collected silica and chalcedony. Given the singular nature of its sources, Agate comes in many distinctive varieties that are mostly dictated by the geographical composition of the ground surrounding the fissures where they have formed.
This sculpture is entirely handcrafted by artist Dorit Schwartz, and presented on a plexi base so it's ready to display
